Our New Gender Collection
We, the library team, are happy to introduce you to the new Gender Collection. You might be wondering what it is, what it is for, and what it encompasses. In very short terms: The Gender Collection is a media collection that we have in the library that deal with gender, identity, sexuality and other queer and feminist matters in a variety of academic disciplines. As a university with a feminist focus, our aim with bringing about this collection is to distinguish the media presented here from the rest of the library and to bring special attention to our feminist media and expand upon it. With that, we hope to not only talk about feminism, but show that we do care.
Now that sounds lovely, doesn’t it? If you have a look at the collection, you notice the variety of media we have. To give a short overview of the core areas we want to cover, we have prepared a short list of our focus areas that you can refer to on the shelves of the collection.
It is very important to us that this collection grows not only based on our recommendations and ideas, but also on yours. So, if you can think of any media that you want to add to this collection, make sure to use the purchase suggestions form which you can find on Infopool. For more questions regarding the Gender Collection, feel free to approach library staff and we will help you out. Either way, we hope that the Gender Collection inspires you as much as it does us. Special thanks go to Ella for her significant contribution to the collection.
