Communicating Climate Solutions: an expert panel discussion
19.04.2023
Join us for a panel discussion on sustainability communication hosted by Karlshochschule International University on April 19th at 6 pm in the Playspace in Karlshochschule and virtually on Teams, organised in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Transformation Center for Sustainability and Cultural Change, based at the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis whose contribution is gratefully appreciated.
The panel will bring together two world class experts to discuss the current state of climate change communication who will share their experience and draw on solutions available to us.
Our distinguished panelists are
- Dr Leila Niamir, a computational economist working on energy and climate change mitigation. Her research focus is on the science-policy-society interface, agent-based modeling, behavioral and lifestyle changes, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and wellbeing. She is a co-author of several reports, including the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
- Alaina Wood, one of the most influential sustainability scientist and climate communicators, whose public communication around sustainability can be followed at https://www.tiktok.com/@thegarbagequeen?lang=en (Good Climate News) and as part of the EcoTok collective. Alaina is both a sustainability scientist and has helped people understand the science behind climate change and manage their climate anxiety through her platform, The Garbage Queen.
The panel is co-moderated and co-organized by students of Karlshochschule, with words of welcome by president of Karlshochschule, Professor Robert Lepenies.
We invite you to join us to learn more about climate change, engage in dialogue with our panelists, and explore how we can work together to create a more sustainable future. Our planet is in crisis and it’s time to take action - and communicate about it. If you would like to attend, please fill out the registration form below. We look forward to seeing you there!
