The Karls Ambassadors
From the summer semester 2020, two new courses of study will start at Karls: The “Karls Semester” as an introduction to the Bachelor's program and the Master's program "Leadership - Politics, Philosophy & Economics".
With the Karls Semester, we offer a practice-oriented entry into the Bachelor's program. Students have the opportunity to orient themselves professionally while dealing with the big questions of our time such as global justice, climate change or migration.
They learn to critically question themselves and their views and train to present their points of view convincingly in debates. They also get the chance to develop and present a social project. In addition, they learn many things that are necessary for their studies (for example, the techniques of scientific work).
Due to the current economic and socio-political situation and its complex globalized context, there is a growing need for post-national and intercultural thinking and action, especially with regard to meaningful policy-making and collective and sustainable decision-making.
Understanding and dealing with these realities requires a more holistic approach and perspectives. This is the starting point of this Master's program.
The overarching goal of L-PPE is to qualify students to become experienced and responsible leaders, who are able to ethically reflect, critically analyze and manage uncertain, conflicting or unclear situations and problems in our complex world.
