Karlshochschule launches the KarlsAcademy

Karlshochschule is launching the KarlsAcademy – our new continuing education program for all those who are already working but still want to continue learning.

Our first project is in the field of cultural management.

Culture and management – too often they are seen as completely separate worlds. Karlshochschule International University is a mediator between these two worlds: With our innovative “Arts and Cultural Management” program, we train the next generation in the cultural sector. We are aimed in particular at cultural professionals who are about to take the next step – you already have a great deal of expertise in the cultural sector and have gained a lot of experience in the cultural sector, but you may still be lacking the one or other impulse from the world of management for more advanced management tasks.

In our innovative program, we combine digital learning formats with practical face-to-face phases to provide you with in-depth knowledge and skills. You will learn the basics of cultural management, how to manage cultural projects and the fundamentals of audience development and fundraising. Our lecturers are experienced cultural managers and proven experts from the academic world. Last but not least, the focus is on self-learning: exchanging experiences with others, reflecting on personal experiences and independently developing individual strategies.

The module consists of three components:

  • Legal, institutional and economic foundations of cultural management
  • Leading Creative Projects
  • Promoting Art: Audience Development, Fundraising and Support Networks

Each of these courses can be completed in several weeks – a mixture of self-study units, online meetings and a face-to-face workshop gives you a good mix of flexibility and shared learning experiences. If you wish, you can obtain a certificate (“Certificate of Advanced Studies”) through a final examination, which certifies a learning volume of 5 ECTS. You can take each module independently.

If you complete our entire program, you can even earn a Diploma of Advanced Studies worth 15 ECTS. This coveted certificate recognizes your expertise in cultural management and expands your career opportunities. For those seeking further qualifications, it can also be credited towards Master’s programs.
