The interdisciplinary Creativity and Management degree program combines basic business management skills with insights into the structures and working methods of the creative industry. Students qualify for various creative industries. The six alternatively selectable specializations Digital Innovation, Cultural Management, Strategic Communication, Motion Design, Film, Digital Media Creation each offer the opportunity to focus on a specific area from the first year of study.

In the areas of Digital Innovation, Cultural Management, Strategic Communicationwhich are taught in Karlsruhe, the focus is on an international orientation. In the areas of Motion Design, Film, Digital Media Creation students learn practical skills for creative work right from the start – these profiles are taught in the media city of Potsdam.
The main subjects of the course are introduction to creative practices, scientific methods, film and media analysis, management modules that build on each other (introduction, strategic management, handling financial and human resources, controlling and reporting as well as change management)
Digital Innovation
By choosing the Digital Innovation profile, students expand and deepen their qualifications beyond the basic business and cultural science skills to strategically shape digital transformation processes and implement disruptive innovation models in companies. They qualify to identify technological trends, develop digital business models and implement sustainable innovation strategies.
Profile-related subjects of the course are innovation management, an introduction to digital technologies and entrepreneurial projects in the digital sector.
Career opportunities are available in the field of digital transformation management, in project management for digital innovation and in innovation consulting in the tech sector.
Cultural Management
By choosing the Cultural Management profile, students broaden and deepen their qualifications for the strategic management of cultural institutions and projects in addition to their basic business and cultural studies skills. They learn methods of cultural promotion, acquire sound management skills and can develop innovative concepts to strengthen the creative industries.
Profile-related subjects of the course are the connection between cultural offerings and their visitors, special challenges in the management of art and culture, as well as the development of local cultural networks.
Career opportunities include cultural management, event coordination, curatorships in cultural institutions and project management in the cultural sector.
Strategic Communication
By choosing the Strategic Communication profile, students expand and deepen their qualifications beyond the basic business and cultural science skills to design comprehensive communication strategies, develop targeted PR and media campaigns and implement them successfully in a dynamic international environment. They are able to use modern communication technologies strategically and evaluate their impact analytically.
Profile-related subjects of the course are media and communication psychology, digital communication and the development of communication campaigns.
Career opportunities include communications management, PR and media consulting, social media strategy development and all areas of storytelling.
Motion Design
In addition to basic business and cultural science skills, students acquire creative and technical skills in the field of motion design and learn about various related business models and fields of application. After successfully completing the course, they are qualified to develop visual concepts and implement digital animations and 3D visualizations in a practical way and to work in media agencies.
Profile-related subjects of the course are practical modules in motion design that build on each other, but also modules on the use of motion design in the entertainment sector, in corporate communication, science communication, journalism or youth work.
Career opportunities are available in the fields of motion design, 3D animation, motion graphics, visual effects design and multimedia production.
Movie
In addition to basic business and cultural studies skills, students acquire a broad spectrum of creative, technical and organizational skills to successfully realize film projects from conception to post-production. They gain integrated insights into various business models and fields of application in the film industry. After successfully completing the course, students have access to areas of work in the film industry that require both creative and economic perspectives.
Profile-related subjects of the course are practical modules in the field of film production, but also modules on the production of films in the entertainment sector, in corporate communication, science communication, journalism or youth work.
Career opportunities are available in various fields of work in film production, from material development to post-production and film management.
Digital Media Creation
In addition to basic business and cultural science skills, students acquire creative and technical skills in the field of immersive virtual environments. After successfully completing the course, they will be able to develop interactive spatial concepts and implement realistic virtual experiences with the help of 3D modeling, real-time engines and immersive technology.
Profile-related subjects of the course are practical modules in motion design that build on each other, but also modules on the use of motion design in the entertainment sector, in corporate communication, science communication, journalism or youth work.
Career opportunities are offered by media and creative agencies, game development studios, industry and mechanical engineering, architecture and planning offices, museums, cultural institutions and exhibition organizers as well as education, research and science communication.
