If you wish, you can obtain a certificate (“Certificate of Advanced Studies”) through a final examination, which certifies a learning volume of 5 ECTS.
If you complete our entire program, you can even earn a “Diploma of Advanced Studies” worth 15 ECTS. For those seeking further qualifications, it will also be possible to gain credit towards Master’s programs in the future.
In the 2025/2026 academic year, we will focus on the areas of artificial intelligence and art and cultural management.
DAS/CAS Program: Understanding, Shaping & Governing Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence is transforming economies, societies, and the way we work. To navigate this shift, professionals need a solid understanding of AI technologies, strategic implementation skills, and a clear sense of responsibility.
Starting in October 2025, a new certificate program offers a comprehensive and practice-oriented introduction to the opportunities, challenges, and regulatory frameworks of AI through three interconnected modules.
Module 1: Understanding AI – Technologies, Tools & Trends
(November 6–8, 2025)
This introductory module provides a foundational understanding of key AI technologies, with a special focus on generative AI. Participants will learn how to effectively interact with AI systems through prompt engineering and explore dialogic approaches to using AI. The module also encourages critical reflection on one’s philosophical stance toward AI. In addition to current technological trends, it covers core learning models such as machine learning and neural networks in an accessible way.
Module 2: Shaping AI – Strategies, Structures & Processes
(January/February 2026)
This module focuses on the strategic implementation of AI within organizations, especially in the HR domain and across business functions. Topics include data-driven decision-making, business intelligence for strategic planning, and real-world applications of AI in marketing, sales, and operations. Participants will also explore AI-enabled business analysis for digital transformation, supported by practical case studies highlighting both opportunities and risks.
Module 3: Governing AI – Ethics, Competencies & Legal Certainty
(April/May 2026)
This module explores the ethical, legal, and societal dimensions of AI. Key topics include algorithmic bias, transparency, explainability, and accountability. Participants will examine current legal frameworks—such as the EU AI Act—and develop competencies for responsible AI governance within their organizations.
The on-site phase (November 6 to 8) will be followed by an online phase. For seven weeks, every Tuesday will either be presented with an online assignment for self-completion or an online session (November 18, December 2, and December 16; at 6:00 p.m.) with one of our instructor
The program is designed for professionals across all sectors and can be completed alongside full-time employment. The fee per module is €550. For each module, participants may choose to take an examination to earn a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) worth 5 ECTS. By completing all three modules and passing the assessments, participants qualify for a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) with a total of 15 ECTS. The additional fee for each examination is €350.
The first module is taught by Professor Dr. Sasanka Potluri and Eric Neuheiser, who bring both academic expertise and hands-on experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Professor Dr. Dirk Wagner, expert in organization, strategy and artificial intelligence is convening the module. To register, please contact: info@karlshochschule.de
Certificate Program: Cultural Management Challenges
In an era of shrinking public budgets and declining cultural funding, cultural management is called upon to develop innovative strategies and build sustainable structures. What’s needed today are leaders who combine business acumen with creative vision and a keen sense for social change.
Launching in October 2025, our new practice-oriented certificate program is designed for cultural professionals, mediators, and enthusiasts who want to sharpen their skills and expand their expertise in cultural management. Structured into three progressive modules, the program offers in-depth training at the crossroads of art, organization, and innovation.
Module 1: Cultural Management
October 30–31, 2025
The first module introduces participants to the fundamentals of cultural management. Core topics include challenges in today’s creative industries, marketing and communication strategies, audience engagement, and event planning. Participants will also gain essential insights into legal frameworks, financing, and controlling.
Module 2: Cultural Leadership
January–February 2026
This module focuses on leadership in the cultural sector. Participants will explore leadership and HR management within contexts such as hierarchies, precarious work, and burnout. They will learn to design stakeholder and change processes, develop strategies step by step, and apply practical tools such as SWOT analysis, stakeholder mapping, and mission statement development. The module also covers project management, change processes, and evaluation.
Module 3: Cultural Entrepreneurship
April–May 2026
The final module puts entrepreneurial thinking center stage. Participants will critically reflect on existing business models, create innovative concepts, and explore strategic controlling, networking, and forward-looking financing strategies with a focus on sustainability.
The on-site phase will be followed by an online phase. For seven weeks, every Monday will either be presented with an online assignment for self-completion or an online session (November 17, December 1, and December 15; at 6:30 p.m.) with one of our instructors.
